Why bugs may be coming to our dinner plates
[Fonte: GLP] Pretty soon there will be 9 billion people coming to dinner. That population boom is going to require an increase in food production, and animal agriculture is not the answer, some experts say, because raising food animals is not an environmentally friendly business.
So, many researchers are looking now at bugs as a potentially sustainable source of nutrition. All kinds of bugs, including crickets, ants and caterpillars, have been proposed as options, because they are protein-rich and require much less food than cattle.
