The current rules on the common agricultural policy (CAP) entered into application in 2023. They were amended back in 2024 following farmer protests, and are being amended again now, as part of the European Commission’s overall simplification efforts. During the December plenary session, the Parliament is expected to vote on the text resulting from the provisional agreement on the file reached with the Council.
