Iberocrops manages large-scale farmland platforms for institutional capital across Iberia, combining local agronomic expertise with disciplined investment and asset management. We’re looking for a Senior Agronomist to take technical ownership of the farmland assets in their assigned area, leading crop development, plantations and field operations on the ground. Based in the field and close to the crop, you’ll combine hands-on agronomic management with the discipline that institutional farmland demands, delivering resilient yields and long-term asset value across your region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the P&L for the operations in your area, with a strong focus on OPEX and cost discipline.
- Plan and supervise field operations, machinery use and seasonal labour in coordination with site teams.
- Own irrigation and water strategy: efficiency, scheduling, infrastructure and drought resilience.
- Manage input procurement and budgets, balancing agronomic outcomes with cost discipline.
- Oversee soil health, fertilisation, integrated pest management and plant nutrition programmes.
- Ensure compliance with certifications (e.g. GlobalG.A.P.), phytosanitary rules and environmental regulation.
- Monitor crop performance with field scouting and agronomic data, optimising yield and quality.
- Advance sustainable land stewardship: biodiversity, regenerative practices and climate resilience.
DATA & DECISION SUPPORT
- As a data-driven platform, you’ll bring agronomic rigour to investment and asset decisions:
- Leverage remote sensing, agronomic platforms and field data to guide decisions and report on performance.
- Support due diligence and underwriting of new sites with technical assessments and yield modelling.
- Mentor junior agronomists and field staff, raising the technical bar across teams.
- Partner with client managers to translate agronomic plans into budgets and reporting.WHAT YOU BRING
- Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
- 5-8+ years’ proven experience managing crops at scale, permanent or row crops, ideally under irrigation.
- Strong command of water management, soil science and integrated pest management.
- Comfortable with agronomic data, precision-ag tools and a results-driven approach.
- Fluent in Portuguese; Spanish and English are a strong advantage. Willing to travel between sites.
WHAT WE OFFER
- A central role with real ownership and impact in a growing company.
- Competitive salary, benefits and genuine development opportunities.
- A young and dynamic team.
- The chance to make a real impact in the Iberian agriculture sector.
- Data-driven agriculture at the core of everything we do.
