We’re pleased to announce that on Friday, 28 November, from 11:00 to 13:00 CET, EUFIC will host and moderate our new Communication Lab on Emulsifiers.
Following the success of EUFIC’s past Communication Labs on Sweeteners and our Ultra-Processed Foods webinar (500+ participants), this session will bring together leading experts to unpack the current science, misconceptions, research trends and industrial challenges of emulsifiers’ use.
During the session, participants will hear expert insights on:
- Consumer perceptions of naturalness and food additives
- Emerging toxicology research trends on emulsifiers
- Industrial challenges in phasing out key emulsifiers (E471, CMC, polysorbates, lecithins)
- How EFSA evaluates and communicates on these food additives
The outcome of the Communication Lab will be a report containing recommendations for science-based, reassuring communication with EU citizens about the risks and benefits related to emulsifier use.
We also anticipate the possibility of hosting a second, closed-workshop, expert Communication Lab to support the integration of these recommendations into the daily work of key multipliers, such as journalists or various food safety stakeholders.
