Madrid, March 12, 2025.- The Olive Oil World Congress (OOWC) has announced the launch of the international contest #BeyondOliveOil, a global invitation for consumers, producers, and other users to explore new ways to use olive oil… beyond the kitchen!
Olive oil is an incredibly versatile ingredient that can unleash creativity in many areas. It is not only essential in gastronomy, but it can also be the base for creating innovative products, from exclusive cocktails to natural cosmetics, or even wellness therapies.
Don’t limit your imagination! Whether you are a producer or simply an olive oil lover, share it with the world and compete for a €1,000 prize!
The contest is open to adults for free and will take place from March 12th to April 4th. To participate, interested individuals must create a post on Instagram (post, reel, or carousel) showing how they use olive oil in an original way and upload the post to their profile, using the hashtag #BeyondOliveOil and tagging the Olive Oil World Congress (@OliveOilWC). The more reactions the post receives, the higher the final score.
An international jury, consisting of members from the OOWC Organizing Committee and Scientific Committee, will evaluate the proposals based on their originality, feasibility, and social media impact.
Additionally, olive oil sector associations and institutions can encourage their members to participate and compete to be the organization with the most creative idea!
With the backing of major industry institutions such as the International Olive Council (IOC), the Tórribera Mediterranean Center, the University of Barcelona, the Culinary Institute of America, CIHEAM Zaragoza, Casa do Azeite, and the North American Olive Oil Association (NAOOA), this contest aims to highlight the great versatility of olive oil, both in personal use and in the creation of new alternative products that challenge current expectations.
Join the olive oil revolution and showcase its versatility to the world!
