A delegation from the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, led by Mr Norbert Lins (EPP, DE), will visit Israel on 23 – 27 July.
During the mission, MEPs will meet with Mr Avi Dicter, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Members of the Knesset. The goal of the mission is to exchange best practices in irrigation and water management in agriculture. MEPs will therefore speak with researchers in the field of agricultural engineering and arid agricultural research. They will also visit companies specialized in irrigation solutions, water facilities and farms using precise irrigation methods.
Ahead of the mission, Mr. Norbert Lins, Chair of the Agriculture Committee, said: “Israel is a pioneer and world market leader when it comes to intelligent irrigation systems. We look forward to seeing how innovative irrigation systems can help to maintain sustainable agriculture even under difficult climatic conditions.”
Together with Mr. Lins, other six MEPs will participate in the mission: Herbert Dorfmann (EPP, IT), Anne Sander (EPP, FR), Daniela Rondinelli (S&D, IT), Cristina Maestre Martín de Almagro (S&D, ES), Ulrike Müller (Renew, DE), Emmanouíl Frágkos (ECR, GR) and Marie Dauchy (ID, FR).
