New rules on official controls in EU agri-food sector to take effect

MEPs on the European Parliament environment, public health and food safety committee (ComEnvi) have waved through an agreement on revised EU-wide rules on official controls in the agri-food chain, meaning they will take effect in the coming weeks.

FollowingComEnvi’s approval today (January 31), the Parliament plenary must formally signoff on a deal reached with member states – likely later this week in Brussels –which will be followed by publication in the EU Official Journal and entry intoforce
