EU must ‘change narrative’ on CAP post-2020 to secure funding, says Hogan

Given new pressing demands on migration, security and defence in the EU, as well as the looming Brexit situation, the bloc’s agriculture sector needs to “change the narrative” on the CAP and focus on “food and environmental sustainability” if it wants to secure adequate funding under the bloc’s next budget, EU Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan has said.

Speaking at a conference at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) yesterday (April 12), EU Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan told stakeholders that “resources will be finite”.
