CAP consultation: Farm lobby to demand less red tape, NGOs more sustainability

Copa-Cogeca has welcomed the launch of a public consultation on the future CAP, but says an “evolution” rather than a “revolution” is needed as farmers are still getting to grips with the 2014-2020 reforms.

The umbrella European farmer union will call for simpler rules, more focus on risk management and more support for cooperatives so producers can join forces to negotiate – and wants the two-pillar structure to remain, with a “strong” rural development
