Belgium gets green light to export pears to Brazil

Belgian pear growers will be able to export produce to Brazil starting from this year’s harvest, as the two countries have finalised the terms of a bilateral agreement struck late last month.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was agreed in January 27 and the sides have now agreed on the sanitary conditions required for the pears to be exported, the Belgian agriculture ministry announced on Friday (February 17).
