Analysis: TTIP – a fast track option for UK-EU trade relations post-Brexit?

As the Brexit negotiations get underway, there is an increasingly urgent need to consider options for shaping the future trade relations between the UK and the EU. A variety of conceivable models is being discussed, ranging all the way from the UK falling back to ‘pure’ WTO status (no more favourable than MFN treatment on both sides) to continued inclusion of the UK in the Single Market (a very soft Brexit).

The pros and cons of the various options are discussed invarious fora. One option, though, that deserves particular attention has notbeen sufficiently considered. It would involve a speedy conclusion ofnegotiations on a comprehensive Transatlantic Trade
